Who am I? Well isn’t that just the existential question that has plagued so many of us? 😉 Well, as I had to sit down to write this post I had to think a little about what has brought me here to this place and to this blog…
Where did it all begin?
As some of you have read from my first post I started out my career in IT, lecturing in Computer Systems after getting my Masters Degree in Informatics, and while I loved to teach, my heart and my calling was always to be ministering in a Church either as a volunteer or a Pastor. I was working 40 hours a week at Varsity and an extra 20 hours a week in my local Church. As providence would have it I was approached by a Church looking for someone to Pastor their young people and after much prayer I accepted, and haven’t looked back since.
What have I done?!?
In my years as a Pastor I’ve ministered to Children, Youth, Students, Adults in capacities as a Children’s, Youth and Student Pastor and as a Worship Pastor and Preacher, but the one thing that has stayed with me throughout my career is a love for equipping and teaching people. I have seen people blossom with the right teaching and equipping and I pray that the rest of my life will be dedicated to helping Christ-followers be the best that they can be, and to do it all to the Glory of God. And did I mention all the fun? I have been so blessed to work with awesome, crazy volunteers and have spent endless hours serving God alongside them.
What do I hope to do?
My hope is that this blog will become a place people can turn when they need advice or resources and more than that will become a place that people in ministry will come to to share what they know with one another. Essentially becoming a place that will promote fellowship and excellence.
I also would like to, in time, offer services from this website for Worship Training, Youth Ministry Training, IT Resource Implementation etc. and would love to share some of what I have learned on a one to one basis with you guys out there! So, if you have need of something like this for your Church, drop me a line (sadly, I can only offer this in South Africa at the moment.)
Feel free to sign up to receive updates on my blog, or drop me a comment or a message using the information on my CONTACT ME page, i’d love to hear where you guys are from or how you got started out in ministry!
Bless you guys and have awesome days,
