So, you’ve made a decision to find a healthy Church. Whether you’re finding a Church for the first time, or you’re moving to another Church, it’s a difficult decision to make. Joshua Harris in his book, “Why Church Matters” tackles exactly that subject and says it so well. It’s similar to finding a husband or a wife. You should have a list of nice to haves and a list of non negotiables, and I couldn’t agree more. But more than anything, you should let the Spirit lead, because lets face it, we are not always the best judges of what we need.
Whether you are someone looking for a healthy Church or you’re a Church looking to become healthier, my hope is that in the next few weeks we can journey together and discover what a healthy Church looks like together.
My wife and I have recently started looking for a new Church community to be a part of, and it has not been easy, but it has been such a blessing to see so many communities in which people are finding Christ and fellowship with one another. One of the things we said we would be looking for is a deep seated and genuine love for God, but also for one another. So, my question to you, once again is this, what do you look for?
Drop us a line…
Over the next few weeks we’ll be looking at what should be on your non negotiable list. What should you be looking for in a Church, or what kind of Church should you want to be? With any luck I’ll be sending out a post every Monday that will try to answer this question. But I don’t want to do it alone, if any of you have something to say about what you look for in a Church, or what makes your Church great or just want to comment on how you found your Church, please leave a comment below, I would really value your thoughts and opinions. Also feel free to subscribe to the blog if you want to receive regular updates.
